After 104 weeks of illness, your sickness benefit will expire. This includes the guidance from Resolu and the payment of sickness benefits. You have submitted a WIA application to the UWV. You may have already received a decision. We hereby inform you of the final steps in this process.

You have received a WIA decision

If you have already received a WIA decision, the letter from the UWV contains details about the start date and benefit amount. Further general information can be found in the table below.

AO%

(disability)

Entitlement benefit Benefit level Mandatory reintegration?
0-35% You will not receive WIA benefit. You can apply for unemployment benefits. N/A. N/A.
35-80% You receive WIA benefits (WGA). You will receive wage-linked benefits (LGU) of 75% of your last-earned salary for the first 2 months. From the 3e month, you will receive 70% until the end of the LGU period. The length of the LGU period depends on your employment history (equal to your unemployment rights).

After the LGU period, you will receive a wage supplement benefit (LAU) or a continuation benefit (VVU). This depends on your ancillary income.

- VVU:

If you have no income or earn less than 50% of the "residual earning capacity" calculated by the UWV, you fall back to the VVU. Your total income then drops sharply, this is because the VVU is linked to a % of the minimum wage.

- LAU:

If you earn 50% or more of your "residual earning capacity," you are entitled to the LAU and maintain a commensurate benefit (70% of your last-earned wage)

More information on the above table can be found on the UWV website.

You have not yet received a WIA decision

You have not yet received a decision from the UWV. Your sickness benefit stops after 104 weeks of illness. You can receive an advance on your WIA benefit at 102 weeks of illness. To do so, you can call 088 - 898 92 95. The UWV will then give you more information about this. The advance will bridge the gap between the end of your sickness benefit and the start of your WIA benefit.

Has the UWV not made a decision after 104 weeks and not notified you of this? Then you can send a "notification of late decision" to the UWV. You then request the UWV to still communicate a decision within 2 weeks. You may also be entitled to compensation. You can find more information on the UWV website.

In the table above you can already see which consequences are attached to which decision. If necessary, your case manager can discuss an expectation with you; however, this may differ from the actual decision.
