The Sickness Benefits Act (ZW) is a Dutch law that regulates that sick employees, in cases where the employer's obligation to continue paying wages during illness does not apply, are entitled to benefits. As a (former) employer, however, you are indirectly or directly responsible again for this sickness law period. The term "sickness law" is still sometimes used in popular speech in the old sense of the word, which is no longer correct. People used to receive sickness benefits from the moment they became ill (so there was no salary continuation for the employer). Pauline Avontuur gave a webinar about this Sickness Act. If you had to miss it unexpectedly, please watch the webinar again via the link below.
