What is a trial placement?

Within the Sickness Law, in addition to a work experience placement, a trial placement is also possible. But what exactly does this entail? A trial placement is used for employees who have difficulty finding work and when the employer has doubts about whether the employee is suitable for the position.

The trial placement is entered into for up to 2 months where the ultimate goal is to be employed by the employer. After a trial placement, the employer may no longer agree on a probationary period with the employee.

Difference between a trial placement and a work experience placement

With a trial placement, there is the prospect of a contract. The goal is to get a permanent job. With a work experience placement, the goal is to gain experience, to examine what competencies a candidate has and to test the capacity to work. This can also lead to a permanent job, but this is not the objective of the work experience placement.
