What is a work experience position?
Within the Sickness Law, it is possible, in consultation with the case manager, to enter into a work experience placement with an organization. But what exactly does this entail? A work experience place is a place where a job seeker can gain work experience in a position in which the job seeker does not yet have experience.
The following can provide a work experience position for a job seeker:
- Does the job fit current workload capacity;
- In this way, the job seeker can build work rhythm;
- Does the organization, vision and culture of the organization fit the job seeker.
On the basis of a work experience placement, an employer can employ someone on sickness benefit on a trial basis for two months while retaining sickness benefit. Both employer and employee can then determine after those 2 months whether there is a match. A work experience placement is often concluded with employees who re-enter the labor market after a long period of time.
Difference between a work experience placement and a trial placement?
The purpose of a work experience placement is to gain experience, to examine what competencies a candidate has and to test the candidate's ability to work. This can also lead to a permanent job, but this is not the objective of the work experience placement. With a trial placement, there is the prospect of a contract. The goal is therefore to get a permanent job.
