A 42nd week is done in as the name implies in the 42nd week of absence. The nature of the absence does not matter, nor whether there is a no-risk policy, for example. This notification can be made online to the UWV. However, there must be employment.

With a sick leave notification, the UWV should always be notified, and the 'sick leave' notification will initiate processes at the UWV. Therefore, it is essential that the correct first day of illness is reported by the employer to the UWV when reporting sick leave.
